For the Wellcome 5 Dynamic Investigation, I repurposed some of my favourite Garbage Pail Kids Cards from the first couple of seasons and redesigned them for the article. I chose Garbage Pail Kids Cards for various reasons. Firstly, I love them! Secondly, you can purchase many GPK NFT's from the site itself, so thematically it fits.

thirdly, they are a commentary on culture and, as parodying is central to the whole existence of GPK, I decided using a parody for parody would be legally acceptable as fair use. But also, the series I have parodied, except for the white rabbit, were parodies themselves of the Cabbage Patch Kids. They were taken to court and afterwards the artwork changed slightly. 

 

So to sum up, I'm using a complicated parody on parody approach, like it or not, it's all very funny, and that's the point, to have fun. I hope you enjoy the article and support not only my work, but also the work of some of the greatest parody artists of the 1980s.
